Motelcecil (b. Milan, 2002, IT) is the alias of Cecilia Fiorelli, an image-maker and musician based in Milan. Her work spans video, photography and collage, often using miniDV and early digital cameras from the 90s and 2000s. With a hands-on, analog approach, she builds visuals through frame extraction, found footage, and physical editing tools like scissors, tape and glue. Graduated from DAMS in Turin with a thesis on music videos, she also releases punk music under the name Motel Cecil, curating the visual world around it through zines and cassettes inspired by the Riot Grrrl movement. She has created videos for independent musicians and editorial projects for brands including Perks and Mini and Panties by Anna.
